hard disk monitoring Active SMART allows you to monitor the S.M.A.R.T. parameters of the hard disk to detect its fault condition. It uses special algorithms to predict the date of a possible drive failure. In addition, Active SMART provides you with full information about your hard disk. It has several testing modes and can be used at home for personal use as well as for large computer systems. Various monitoring modes and alerting options are available (local and remote). The built in messaging features allow for system administrators to be notified of impending hard disk failure on any machine on the network while local alerting can be configured to notify the user.
