Won't create a bootable system backup2 starsby JohnCorliss (Read all my 27 reviews)
The ability to clone a system partition or drive so that the clone is bootable is only available in a paid version of this program. You can verify this by checking out their "Comparison" page on their website. For me, that lack is a deal-killer. Yes, I used to use this program, and then an update included a driver which rendered my system unbootable. It took me three days to determine what the problem was. When I contacted the company and asked if they were going to deal with this issue, they told me they would not. Since then, I have not used this program. USE IT AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Since Chrome no longer supports the Linkman extension, this is by far the best replacement.

Does what it says but seems unfinished2 starsby bolgwrad (Read all my 22 reviews)
Runs in the tray, dims everything not focussed. It works OK with ObjectDock which is nice (the dock brightens on mouseover without dimming the main window). A few issues stop it being a keeper: Doesn't work with multiple monitors, main monitor only. Options are startup switches which are a bit of a pain. No startup option, no config dialog, and tbh there seems a bit of a lag when switching focus, which may be due to the bitmap overlay method it uses.

Don't bother with the catalogue, seriously3 starsby bolgwrad (Read all my 22 reviews)
As others have said: Calibre infuriatingly duplicates all your book files and folders, and adds a number to their names. It's bad enough trying to keep track of what you have or haven't read without worrying about meaninglessly duplicated files and folders. However: you can just forget about all that and find the executable file 'ebook-viewer.exe' in your Program FilesCalibre folder. Just add that as an 'open with' option to the Windows context menu.

Very good app with useful features4 starsby Miskonius (Read all my 2 reviews)
Undelete is one of those apps that can satisfy users with any levels of tech knowledge, however some things need to be addressed. It recovers files, folders, partitions and even RAID. It can even fix your MBR from a bootdisk. The problem with all of that is that user does not know about RAID and MBR for example from the start and the app is not really trying to show those features.

Sigil is superb for epub files5 starsby DerellLicht (Read all my 24 reviews)
Sigil is a key part of my process of converting pdf documents to epub... I first rip the PDF to text, stick html headers on the file, then import the html file into Sigil... it provides incredible control over file formatting, and allows easy editing of document formats. The official documentation is rather rudimentary, to say the least... I have had much better success by following the MobileRead Sigil forums.

Very useful!4 starsby abraham.gumba601
I can finally move files from my phone to my desktop computer and reclaim Gigabytes of space. It was fairly easy to connect the two (I used WiFi). I wish I could cut and paste directly, but I have not found how to do that. Copy then delete works okay, though.

Not free.1 starsby addon151
Advertised as 'Free' but at every turn you are fed the pro routepurchase. Also, you cannot de-activate calling home for updates. It is cleverly disabled and again forces you to purchase a licence. Very annoying. I fully understand the developers have taken their time and effort to create something and need to earn a living, but please do not advertise it as free on excellent sites such as Snapfiles.

The best of what i have tested5 starsby m.zagorski26
For over 50 years best rule of thumb was do not install what you do not need or use. How times have changed... I have purchased some of the best cleaners, ran them for months but it all ended up in tears causing system failures which took time to recover. I recently installed PrivaZer and very shortly updated to the Pro version after my experience. The best of all I have tested and highly recommended.

Good overall3 starsby Abraxas (Read all my 5 reviews)
It does the job. The interface is clean and the settings as easy to find as in any similar program. I don't like the way it truncates book names and adds numbers to the titles. With multivolume sets this makes the titles indecipherable.

Auslogics Disk Defrag Ultimate screenshot

Auslogics disk defrag ultimate is awesome5 starsby BRIANMAIL161
I recently tried out this defragmentation program and I must say I was very impressed. It has several defrag methods, such as optimizing by access, optimize by zone, boot time, several more and also the ability to optimize your SSD. After I installed it, I performed a complete defrag of my hard drive and it did an excellent job. It was able to complete the task fairly quickly and removed all fragments. Another good feature is this defrag checks the disk for errors, clear browser cache and gets the HDD prepared before the defragmentation begins. If you are looking for a great defrag, this is the one to get. You won't be disappointed.

Active KillDisk screenshot

Active KillDiskActive KillDisk

A solid data erasue app for the techies5 starsby Miskonius (Read all my 2 reviews)
For longtime PC users, Active KillDisk is a well-known name. KillDisk permanently erases all data on drives, ensuring that it cannot be recovered. It features more than 20 sanitization standards, including the newest IEEE 2883, so if you are worried about compliance, there is nothing to worry about. The sanitization process is straightforward; you click on the drive, pick the data sanitization process, confirm, and you are good to go. For all the years I have used it, I have never encountered any issues. For those who want certificate creation, there is an editor within the software with which you can customize certificates, labels, etc. Now for the bad stuff. There aren't many, but they should be mentioned. First of the being that, the UI should get an upgrade. This one is not bad; it scales well, but it is visible that it wasn't from recent times. The second issue I have with it is that it is not immediately clear after the purchase how many drives one can erase simultaneously with one license. After reading the description, one might get the (wrong!) idea that it is one license one drive, but in fact, it's first license 2 drives, with every additional drive slot needing an additional license. I somehow feel that this should have been communicated much better. Other than that, the software is fine.

Not sure it can get updates anymore3 starsby JohnCorliss (Read all my 27 reviews)
This little portable program is getting long in the tooth. Last time it was updated was Apr 10, 2019 as per this website. And when I went to the link to the program's home page as provided on this website, but it seems to have redirected to a Kapersky F.A.Q. page which has no info about TDSSKiller. When I ran the program a little while ago, it told me that it was attempting to obtain an update, but I serioiusly have my doubts that one was available. In other words, it might be worth running but might not be capable of catching newer rootkits.

Author of xyplorer doesn't know when to stop5 starsby Shodan816 (Read all my 44 reviews)
XYplorer is a fantastic file explorer on steroids. However, for at least 10 years, the 'updatesimprovements' have only affected about 110 of 1 of users, yet the author refuses to simply 'end of life it' and find another application to work on. I'm using V14.80.0200 from over 10 years ago. It's megabytes smaller than today's latest versions and still does more than what 99.9999 of people use a file explorer for.

Dangerous trash1 starsby objective (Read all my 14 reviews)
R-Wipe&Clean is much easier to configure than BleachBit (then again, what doesn't?), but it's overpriced and unstable. One time, I configured it to delete a single log file under "C:Program Files (x86)", and it deleted every directory under "C:Program Files (x86)" up to and including the one with the targeted log file. Obviously, this is a bug, and a very nasty one. I was able to restore from a system image. R-Wipe&Clean support ignored me.
