change the color of selected folders Folder Painter enables you to customize the appearance of your folders by choosing a custom color to highlight selected folders. The program adds a new entry to the right-click menu for folders which allows you to choose from a dozen different colors that can be applied with a click of your mouse. You can revert a folder to its default color just as easily. By default, Folder Painter will use the desktop.ini file to customize the folder icon, which is where Windows saves folder specific settings. If you want to make the icon change portable (e.g. keep the color if you transfer the folder onto a USB stick), you can choose the "Copy Icon..." option.
