At first glance this seems like a small convenience, but if you frequently plug in and remove USB drives as I do, this easy access via a desktop icon is addictive. It is also handy when using a multicard reader with memory cards from cameras, cell phones, and media players. I have installed it on both machines I use. The current version includes a third-party add-on, which earns a few cents for the developer. I usually decline, but I like this enough to accept it, if only for a few days. show Review details

On my 64-bit Win Vista machine with 4-gigs of RAM, Desk Drive has been 100% in my experience ! Neither slows my system, or has ~ever~ crashed. show Review details

This is a program I looked forward to using, but sadly, it was just too 'heavy' on my R31 ThinkPad, XP Pro, Pent3, SP2, .NET 2.0. Pc got too sluggish and each time I tried to use the Tray icon's Menu, the Program crashed! I'm thinking of downloading v1.7 but I noticed its KBs are even larger :( O Well.. there must be another drive detector out there just waiting for me to give it a happy home :) show Review details

First of all, it installed fine, nice little icon, etc... but when I tried to plug anything in, including 2 USB thumbs, 1 gig PNY, 4 gig Sandisk, and 256 Impact, one DVD Iomega, not a one of them were detected. Windows detected them, bypassed Desk Drive, nothing. I did a restart, I know how apps can be, still nothing so finally uninstalled, reinstalled, then finally, just uninstalled. show Review details

This worked OK for USB flash drives, but did not automatically detect the DVD-ROM drive. Not everyone may need this feature, but it is worth a look. show Review details
