Good software

I've used this for several years along with similar software. Remote Utilities is very reliable, easy to use and very stable and was my preferred method of connecting to other computers.

After a test run with this, I can only say it's awesome. I set up RUT on my son's pc, set up the viewer (portable) on mine, so not really set it up, just run it. Anyway, it didn't take long to scan the host computer and connect and in seconds, I had full control over his desktop (which I will fool him with when he gets home). You have to have it running on the host machine or the viewer will not pick it up. It did integrate into the firewall just fine. BTW, those with the Windows 7 network sharing issues of slowness, this will make your life much easier as it tends to transfer files much faster. It was also a breeze to install software onto the host. I do like the chat box as well, it makes things easier if helping others. I will definitely keep this on my pc, awesome.
