hMailServer hMailServer

Best free Windows mail server. 5 stars
I am extremely impressed how well and the amount of function available in hMailserver. I have this running along with SquirrelMail as my webmail interface, and the performance and antispam options are great. Lots of cool options, like plus addressing, clam antivirus integration and more. No problems using IMAP with my iPad, iPhone, Android phones, or Outlook client. Running for over a year now, and zero problems. hMailServer software hasn't been updated in a while, would like to see a new version, but hMailServer works great, and I am very happy to have found it. Help is available, plus there is an active forum. I wish the scripting was better documented (Not needed for everyone but something I want to explore more), but overall, probably the easiest and more robust mail server to get up and running. DNS2Go DNS2Go

Works very well 4 stars
Before I got a business class connection with a static IP, I used DNS2Go for several years, to direct traffic to my website and ftp server that runs from a server in my home office. The service is not free like some others, but the cost is extremely affordable, the support was great, and the product was very easy to setup and start using. Price: Free Trial ($24.95)

PocoMail PocoMail

Can't forward html formatted emails. 2 stars
For years, (Even this latest version), Pocomail STILL cannot forward a HTML formatted email -You know, an email with graphics, fonts, etc. It forwards a mess of a message. The only solution is to use the, "Forward as an attachment" option. For eight years since I originally purchased PocoMail, this has been an issue. What a piece of junk. Years ago, I had my whole department switch to Pocomail (About 9 copies purchased). Between that forwarding issue we discovered and Outlook calendar invites not able to import into the Barca product either we dropped PocoMail and Barca and went back to Outlook. To export your Pocomail/Barca database back to something useful (Like Outlook, Thunderbird, etc.), you should use, "Aid4Mail", by Fookes software. The database for the emails is actually a flat file, so packing/compressing the databases on a regular basis starts taking some time the more emails you have, but it is needed to keep the performance up. The one incredible ability of this product was configuring email rules. Probably the best I have ever seen. But that wasn't enough to keep us using the product. Because this program does not use Microsoft Internet Explorer viewer to display HTML emails, it is actually safer to use, which would be great, but the forwarding problem and other functionality to work with other apps really makes this email program a dud. CDBF - DBF Viewer and Editor CDBF - DBF Viewer and Editor

Best dbf editor available. 5 stars
I work on restaurant POS systems (Point of Sale) for a 500+ location restaurant chain. These systems rely heavily on DBF files between the backoffice computer and the register terminals. CDBF is the only DBF edit/viewer that has the power and flexibility to automate and simplify any tasks when you need to access the files directly. No other DBF editor comes close, and I've tried many of them. The interface is clean and easy, the automation features, and filters make using this program a dream. I highly recommend this program, and Whitetowns's other programs are just as high of quality. Price: Free Trial ($39.95)

LeapFTP LeapFTP

Excellent ftp client 5 stars
Very simple and clean interface. Not cluttered and easy to work with. Built in scripting allows you to automate any kind of FTP tasks. As I use FTP daily for various tasks, the reliability, clean interface and powerful scripting ability make this my favorite FTP client I have ever used. Even all configuration, phonebook, etc. is saved to simple text INI files. More apps should be designed the way Leap FTP was made. Price: Free Trial ($39.95)
