Free Download Manager Free Download Manager

Works great with all versions of Firefox 5 stars
I've used Free Download Manager with all versions of Firefox since 3.0 without any problems. I have add-on version checking disabled in Firefox and FDM does need to be reinstalled after some FF builds. I've never had any problems and I use about 100 addons for Firefox. GimpGuy must have done something to corrupt his setup. Price: Free

TopWinPrio TopWinPrio

Only a 3/5 until settings are sticky 3 stars
TopWinPrio had some nice reviews recently but has a major design oversight and an annoyance. The "boost explorer" is not sticky (ini in the install directory, please) and the option to start minimized is a minimized window, not minimized to the system tray. Works great but these two design oversights should be corrected. Price: Free

Juice Juice

Stay away until critical flaws are fixed 2 stars
Juice looks beautiful and the interface is really nice. However, there is no way to rename the downloaded files. The "human readable" title might be "Photoshop TV episode 29" but you'll get the actual file name when the download is done. This makes it useless, in my opinion. Juice most certainly has all the needed information in its records but the developers seem to have a "screw you" attitude. It's very obvious in their forum when their response to a person asking for file renaming was instruction to "complain to the person who made the feed". Too bad. It looks nice and runs well but without file renaming, it's a complete waste of time, especially with the developer attitude. Price: Free
