PC Inspector File Recovery PC Inspector File Recovery

Recovered some files... 3 stars
PC Inspector is a pretty good utility that could be just what you need. My friend's hard drive crashed and she hadn't backed it up like she should have. I tried this utility first and was able to recover about 250 pictures (out of around 3000). Still it gave me hope that the files weren't lost. The interface is not very user friendly and I wish it had a search feature for particular file types. It locked up on me once and gave me an error once (out of using it 3 times). It takes a long time to run. Recovered files are bigger than the original file size, which takes up a lot of space. Still, it's free and the hard work in developing it shows. Try it, you probably don't have anything else to loose if you're looking at recovery tools. Price: Free

File Scavenger File Scavenger

Buy it...now!!! it really works!!! 5 stars
My friend's hard drive crashed and she had failed to backup 2+ years of pictures. I tried everything I knew to do and had only been able to recover a few pictures. I'd already given up, but was still looking around and found this program. I tried the demo and was absolutely amazed. It worked even after I had ran CHKDSK. I paid the money and recovered at least 95% of what she wanted (probably more). It found directories that windows didn't think existed. The interface is simple, it's fast, reliable and just plain works! Try the demo. What do you have to lose (data if you don't)? Price: Free Trial ($54.00)
