This isn't fancy, it just does the job. I've recommended MWSnap to dozens of people and donated a couple of times now as well. Price: Free

Cobian Backup Cobian Backup

Been using this reliably for years 5 stars
I've probably been using Cobian for 4 or 5 years. I've changed PC's several times and I simply pull the backup of all of my files and folders from my usb drive to the new computer and hey-presto everything is there. I set this for a full backup every 7 days - incremental backups in-between and no more that 3 full saved backups. My USB drive is big enough that I don't worry about compressing so on the odd occasion I've had to go and get a file back - it's just there. I like it so much that last year I sent my 2nd (small) donation to the developer - nothing speaks louder than being prepared to pay for something! Price: Free

MaxiVista MaxiVista

I'm not easily impressed ........ 5 stars
I'm still trialling this but I've spent all afternoon saying "WOW, that's cool". I'm using the laptop as the primary and the desktop pc as the secondary. I'm typing on the laptop and this is showing on the desktop - cool. I could connect the PC monitor to the laptop - but what a hassle changing connections all the time. This way I don't have to do anything. If I want to stretch the laptop across two monitors it's just a double click for twice the monitor space. I can drag windows on to the 2nd monitor, flick back and forward between the 2 desktops, in some ways it's better than connecting another monitor to the laptop - I have 2 computer desktops controlled with one keyboard and mouse. This is very clever stuff, give it a try. I use freeware where I can but I can't see any reason why I won't part with the very reasonable registration fee after a little more testing. Price: Free Trial ($39.95)
