I wanted this because on my PC, the hard disk activity light is impossible to see, but the hard disk is so quiet you can't tell if it's doing anything or if the PC has locked up without running the system monitor. Using Hexagora I can see at a glance at the system tray how hard the hard disk is working and if I wanted to, the network, the RAM and the CPU as well. Neat software. Price: Free

Does what it says it does, though note it can't read CD Roms, DVDs, etc, just hard and floppy disks. Price: Free
