This is only a chkdsk shell, akin to CheckDiskGUI (also on snapfiles) - it doesn't offer anything you can't do with chkdsk, because it's using chkdsk to do the scans. Price: Free

First off, the free version doesn't allow you to use more than 1 email account, so this is worthless to me. (Who's only got one email address?) This may be portable to some extent, but it does make registry changes when you first run the installer. Price: Free

Easy, stable, portable 5 stars
Many apps this small have worse interfaces. This is friendly and helpful. Asks for blank CD, prompts to erase non-blank CDRW. Couldn't reproduce the hang that Cipher reported - I could click the checkboxes whenever. I haven't tried the commandline options yet, but ability to control via commandline is a nice perk. Price: Free
