Any website you visit requires a DNS look-up, which is usually performed by your Internet Service Provider and can be easily intercepted . In order for encryption to work properly the program will automatically change your DNS settings to use DNS Crypt instead of your ISP's DNS servers. DNS Crypt acts as a proxy server that encrypts your DNS queries and sends them to the OpenDNS service.
