optimize your RAM Fast Defrag is a tool that can free and optimize RAM and the swap-file usage. It displays current memory usage and statistics and can also be run from the command line (useful for automation). Fast Defrag cleans only the memory that was filled by previous loaded applications and does not remove Windows components or active programs from memory. The program also includes access to system configuration, running processes, startup programs (msconfig.exe) and more. Copyright Snapfiles.com

Does what I want it to 5 stars by PahooKatawah Feb 05, 2011
I used it five years ago with a more powerful PC than I have right now, with great success. This program loads with a default processor priority of "Low" but I change that to "High" and my system moves quicker than it did without it and this system is cheap. show Review details
It did the same... 2 stars by gimpguy Oct 22, 2008 (Read all my 1159 reviews)
Much like others, your system ends up slowing down and not running correctly with it's usage. This is no exception. It doesn't like it when you use something like Gimp or a 3-d app, or something that uses extra resources. I guess another way to explain my experience is Fast Defrag was fighting for control, not actually working in harmony with my system. I ended up doing 3 restarts due to a non responsive OS. A noticeable difference when transferring large files over my home lan, they became slow or sluggish if you will. That said, what good is it? I have gotten rid of this plague and now my PC is healthy running again. show Review details
Crashed my system 2 stars by Nicholas Jun 23, 2005 (Read all my 72 reviews)
In a heavy used system with only 512 MB of memory Fast Defrag tries very (maybe too) hard to balance between memory and cache. It frees lots of mem on its fly indeed, but it panicked and lost its balance completely when a very large file was zipped for backup. It crashed my system. I had to look for a reset button to reclaim the system, repair the damage and take Fast Defrag off-line for ever. show Review details
