Grammar and Spell Checker Ginger is a contextual spell and grammar checker that validates your text in MS Office and Internet Explorer. It can check your text as-you-type or via keyboard shortcut and you can also use Ginger to scan an entire Office document for errors. Unlike standard spell checkers, Ginger is not limited to misspelled words but can also find grammar mistakes. During our review, it found some grammar mistakes that the Office grammar checker missed but it also missed some (rather obvious ones) that were properly flagged by Office. Of course the Office spell and grammar checker does not work with Internet Explorer, so Ginger has a clear advantage there. We didn't like the huge GUI that takes up the entire width of your upper screen with fonts so large that it can only display a portion of the text at a time. Also disappointing was the fact that Ginger only works with Office applications and not with other text editors, not even Notepad. A Premium version with text-to-speech capabilities and additional features is also available. Copyright Snapfiles.com

Once you get used to it this is a great program. Does more than many other paid programs. Will capitalize the first word in a sentence which is excellent. It can learn words and corrects grammar, insert apostrophes etc. The on screen checker is kind of big but you get used to this. Give it a try, it gets better as you get used to it. show Review details
