It installs as a dynamic shell extension that lets you picks the file or folder to be used for the hard link and drop it in the destination folder. Hard Links are a built-in, but not easily accessible feature of the Windows operating system and allow multiple references to a single file. Works great. I'm using it to move my files in preparation for a new work computer. Move files to the external hard drive, create a junction in the old location, and everything works like normal. They can take the old computer away and leave all of the files on the external drive. show Review details

I found this somewhat useful but had some issues as well. I did run into a bug with it as well. When I linked to a file on my E: partition, I could not delete the link afterward which resided on my C: drive. I tried everything, even a restart and the only way was to copy the link back to the file I originally linked, then delete the link. The copied link still resides on E: and will not allow me to delete it. That noted, I'm glad I didn't hardlink numerous files. One other issue, if I linked from E: to C:, if I delete the hardlink, my original file becomes corrupt. I don't think it's anything I did wrong, simply right click on the file, go to desktop and created the link. I can see this being very useful in other areas and may explore it a bit more, perhaps look to see if any bugs are out there that others have. When I rate a software, I don't go by what I have to fix to get it to work, rather, what I got initially. Will change my rating of course if I find what the cause is, be it my fault or the software. show Review details

I originally downloaded this tool as a way to overcome the limitations of a 3rd-party online backup solution. (My backup software was limited to monitoring specific directories, like My Documents, etc.) The shell extension functionality made it extremely simple to overcome those limitations. Said simply, it simply works. Another noteworthy point about this software is its included documentation, which was extremely useful and very well-written. Thanks Hermann! show Review details
