copy files from your iPod to your PC iPod Rescue enables you to access the songs stored on your iPod and copy them to your hard drive. You can select the songs to copy, choose a renaming scheme or us the original iPod file names and also edit the artist and title information for each song. iPod Rescue is primarily designed to recover music from your iPod in case you lose your iTunes library due to a system crash or disk failure, but it can also be used to simply copy songs to a PC that does not have iTunes installed. The program also includes a playback function which allows you to listen to your iPod music on your computer without the need to have iTunes installed. We tested iPod Rescue successfully with 3rd and 5th generation iPod Nanos but the software did not recognize the iPod Touch. Copyright Snapfiles.com

Most weren't rescued.

My old computer crashed and burned, so I needed to get the over 17K songs I have on my iPod transferred over to my new computer. I was hoping this product would do it, however, it only "found" 2023 files. So now I'm not sure how to get the other 15K+ songs onto my new laptop. The user interface is pretty simple, but on the flip side of that - there really are no features where you can even try to see if you can rescue more files either. You're kind of stuck with what the software gives you. I guess you get what you pay for, and since this is free, I can't say it's a bad value for the price. Just would have liked it to do what was advertised.
