cross-platform file manager muCommander is a cross-platform (Java) file manager with support for local volumes, FTP, SFTP, SMB, NFS, HTTP, Amazon S3, Hadoop HDFS and Bonjour. It offers a dual-pane interface with tabs for easy switching between multiple open folders. The program comes with built-in support for ZIP, RAR, 7z, TAR, GZip, BZip2, ISO/NRG and other compressed archives. In addition to the standard file management features, muCommander offers folder comparison, bookmarks, user credentials manager, customizable appearance, keyboard shortcuts, and more. If you plan to use muCommander solely on a Windows system, you will probably find better file managers, but if cross-platform support is an important aspect, you should definitely give it a try.
