shows network activity in the tray Network Activity Indicator brings back the system tray network activity indicator found in previous versions of Windows. Unlike the standard Windows 7 network icon, Network Activity Indicator flashes whenever there is incoming or outgoing activity on the network (like it used to be on XP). In addition, you can hover your mouse over the icon to view current Sent/Received statistics and access detailed statistics and network settings from the right-click menu. Microsoft decided to omit this feature in Windows 7, because it believed that some people find animated tray icons distracting. This may be true, but omitting the feature to monitor network traffic in the tray altogether was a mistake. Now the feature can be restored with this small (146 kb) program, which is no-install. Definitely recommended. show Review details
