simple photo renaming PPR (Pennock`s Photo Renamer) is a simple renaming utility that allows you to rename large numbers of image files (or other files) to a uniform name, that consists of a custom prefix and an incremental number. For example your file IMG05242004.jpg could become Vacation_001.jpg and so on. The program only offers this single type of renaming, not nearly as powerful as other free competitors, but it is simple and easy to use, offers a preview of the new name and an Undo option. Does one thing...

A program that does one thing and one thing only but it does it very well. Only comment on the interface is the Select All etc are rather small but for the price (free) I'm happy

This is a deliberately 'no frills' renaming utility, and most of the time, I would submit, that's all you need. If you have many picture files with different names (perhaps from many different sources), then this allows you to rename to a common scheme, giving you a preview before you actually 'do the deed', and you can always back out the changes as well. An excellent little program.
