backup and synchronize files and folders RoboMirror is a GUI front-end for the popular Robocopy.exe command-line utility that comes included with Windows since Vista. The program uses the robust Robocopy engine to perform file and folder synchronizations with a variety of flexible options. In addition, it allows you to maintain multiple mirror profiles and schedule them for automatic backups. To synchronize two folders or drives, simply select the source and destination and choose from the available options. RoboMirror only offers a few of the Robocopy switches as selections, mainly NTFS attributes, file overwrites and handling of existing files. However, advanced users can customize the mirror operation by adding any Robocopy switches manually. Unlike the Robocopy /MIR switch, RoboMirror will not (by default) purge any files that are not present in the source, so nothing will be deleted from the target unless you check the "Delete extra files and folders". In addition, a preview is shown each time that tells you how many files will be copied and/or deleted by the selected operation. RoboMirror also supports Volume Shadow Copy mode, which can be very useful if you are trying to backup files that are currently in use. RoboMirror offers an easy to use GUI for Robocopy, which allows those who are not comfortable with command line applications to take advantage of the robust and time proven Robocopy engine.
