Yes, you've read correctly - no need to install any app on your phone! Simply run the ScanTransfer application on your PC, scan the QR code with your phone and select the photos or videos you want to transfer. You can transfer a single file or hundreds of photos very quickly and they are saved in a newly created "Transferred Files" folder on your desktop. How does it work? It's pretty clever actually. The ScanTransfer program starts a local web server on your PC and when you scan the QR code with your phone, it opens the local web application on your PC from where you initiate the transfer and download the files to your computer. The whole process is completely seamless and transparent, it couldn't be any easier! There are no third parties involved, everything takes place inside your local network, so your photos and privacy are always protected. ScanTransfer works with iOS and Android phones that have the capability to scan a QR code. I loved this program when it was really free

I loved this program when it was first released and was really freeware. Now it is limitedware. The free version places a watermark on each image transferred by the program. That is not freeware. This review replaces my original review of all praises. I no longer recommend the current version of this program.

Great software!

This software is easy to install and works a treat - normally. I use it on my Moto G4 phone and desktop computer and no problems. However, my partner has a Samsung S8 phone and an HP Laptop and for some reason we can't get it to work. We get to the stage where you click on the "+Select Files" button but it doesn't work. Nothing happens! We are sat within a few feet of the same router and using the same Wi-Fi. Has anyone any ideas as to how we can get it top work for her?

It is very easy to use. It would be better if I can transfer like that from pc to phone too. the free version is limited to 10 files each time. But it is quite good for me. thanks, developer.
