view content of Alternate Data Streams Stream Explorer allows you to view the content of Alternate Data Streams (ADS) which can often contain data in regards to properties, hard link information, object identifiers etc. The additional streams are created for example when you are using the Summary tab and add additional information to a file (author, comments etc). When you copy a file that contains additional streams to a non-NTFS volume, you will receive a warning in regards to Stream Loss, since FAT volumes do not support these additional data streams.
