remote computing tool TightVNC is an enhanced version of VNC, which is optimized to work over slow network connections such as low-speed modem links. It allows you to access your computer desktop remotely via a client program or with a web browser, using the built in HTTP server. While original VNC can be very slow when your connection is not fast enough, TightVNC allows you to work remotely almost in real time in most environments. Besides bandwidth optimizations, TightVNC also includes many other improvements, optimizations and bugfixes over the original VNC. TightVNC is compatible with the standard VNC. Can't go wrong 5 stars by gimpguy Aug 07, 2011 (Read all my 1159 reviews)
You can't go wrong using this, it's easy to set up, and of course now it saves me time by remotely fixing a person's computer. I had issues with trust using other software to remotely manage a customer's computer, however, they seem to trust TightVNC more and have been having a lot more success getting this installed on their machines. That alone is worth keeping this. There is a slight slowdown which is expected but not enough to hinder what I'm doing. Great program, a must have. show Review details
Marvellous 5 stars by Fortra Mar 08, 2006 (Read all my 11 reviews)
I have been using this remote program for a few years now. And it just gets better and better over the previous versions when it was called vnc. I'm using the Tightvnc 1.3(dev7)beta it works quite well no problems using it. The only thing missing from it, it's not listed within the Add/Remove Program (Control Panel). So hopefully they'd release a updated version that will sort out that little problem and fix any other bugs that maybe included. show Review details
A must for network newbies 4 stars by HankDougherty Oct 05, 2005
Fairly easy to use with little networking knowledge. A bit sluggish with slower connections and/or slower puters. I especially liked the capability of administering several clients at the same time in multiple windows. I am a tech and sometimes it is easier to remotely administer the customers computer than to try to explain it by phone or IM. I get the job done quickly and the customer can actually learn by watching it happen in real time. BraVO! Affordable and easy on system resources. Thanks! show Review details
