I really liked the effects, but it made my pc real slow and hang. For that i can't recommend it. show Review details
Nice 3 stars by gimpguy Jul 06, 2012 (Read all my 1159 reviews)
This is a decent little desktop effect, you get snow or others to fall. It has speed, algorithm of blowing or falling, basically, down or up. It has choices when to stop, like pressing a key or mouse, then starts again after X seconds which you set. All in all, a decent software but could have other things like rain and lightning, maybe fire, waterfall, mudslide, etc... which would make this far more interesting. Perhaps fall leaves, regular leaves, things of that nature. Better yet, let people load into a library, images of their own. I am thinking they want to keep this at the low end, both usage wise and size but again, create a folder for users with higher resources to load their own png images. I think that would be great. The software has a lot of possibilities but right now, it will get old very quickly in my opinion. show Review details
Tiny, and lots of fun 5 stars by WanjiSanji Dec 12, 2011 (Read all my 6 reviews)
This is a single executable, 79K in size (it does save an .ini file in the same directory). It has over 20 different modes, from snowflakes to tennis/soccer/baseballs, stars, etc. It of course uses some CPU cycles, but did not seem to negatively impact my computer at all. A fun winter mod for those of us wishing for snow. Each flake appears to move independently, some with a wide back-and-forth swing on the way down, some not much at all. show Review details
