Puran Defrag Puran Defrag

Great tool - but for a single PC only 4 stars
This defragger is fast and thorough and very affordable - what more do you want?: A license which is restricted to usage on a single PC seems to be a bit out of touch with modern times. Price: Free Trial ($19.95)

Photoscape Photoscape

Highly recommended 5 stars
This is a very amazing tool for all the image editing power it packs into an easy to use user interface. Not for super precise editing but perfect for all quick fixes. Especially useful are the clever photo -montage options. However, these are the first authors that, after receiving a donation from me, never replied with an acknowledging email. Price: Free

For keyboardists; no dual pane mode 3 stars
A very powerful and fast file manager with plenty of helpful inventions enhancing file management. It is multi-tabbed and you can open several instances; However, what is missing completely is a straightforward classic dual-pane mode, the easiest way to manage files visually. Thus I can recommend this tool only for people planning to deal with a steeper learning curve to master a powerful tool. There are many other file managers available which are more suitable for visually and mouse oriented users. Price: Free Trial ($40.00)

Smart and reliable 5 stars
A very smart and reliable backup solution. The details have been described in the previews reviews. I did switch to the paid version recently because it now offers control of versions of your files. Price: Free

Jarte Jarte

Very good features 4 stars
This text editor has very nice features for making writing as straightforward as possible - not necessarily for business type requirements. It allows you to focus more on the creative process. The spell checking of the pro-version works fine. Unique and interesting features like the one-click bookmark management, favorite fonts, etc. Really useful user interface inventions. On the other hand the interface looks more unconventional than necessary and a still a bit childish - certainly a matter of taste. A second drawback is the lack of "Open Document Format" support.
