Audacity Audacity

This is a very nice tool to edit flac files 5 stars
I needed to trim a few FLAC files to fit an album onto a single CD. Audacity did the job very nicely. Controls are fairly intuitive. I was able to easily cut lead in and lead out material from several tracks. The fade in and out effects made the cuts appear seamless. Although haven't used it for anything else, Audacity is a feature packed piece of software and should allow for some fancy audio editing for those so inclined. Overall this appears to be an outstanding piece of freeware. Price: Free

Personal Video Database Personal Video Database

I have used it for several months - great!!! 5 stars
The program offers a fine blend of automatically importing information over the internet and manual entry of data. I easily loaded my titles lists from Excel files and the program imported plenty of information from IMDB and other software. I spent quite a bit of extra time doing external searches for posters and added a lot of those manually. You can configure which fields certain information is automatically loaded into as well as create custom fields. The developer is actively supporting the software with frequent improvements and upgrades. All in all this is a very flexible and USEFUL program. Best of all, it is free! Price: Free

On-screen Ruler On-screen Ruler

This is a nice utility 4 stars
This is useful for positioning menu buttons with my version of NeroVision which does not have a grid. However, the ruler would be even better if it had an option to force it to be always on top. As it is now, it automatically goes to the background whenever the window in which you are aligning things is activated. Overall a nice piece of software. Price: Free

Simple Port Forwarding Simple Port Forwarding

Great tool with unbeatable support 5 stars
This tool really lives up to its name. Select your router from a list and the program does the rest to set up your port forwarding. The program also alerted me to the fact that my new modem was also a router - something I did not realize. This modem/router was interfering with port forwarding through my main router. It was not on Simple Port Forwarding's built in list, so I used the companion screen capture tool to send the info to Shane, the developer. He was quick to respond and, through a series of e-mails, patiently walked me through the steps necessary to configure my hardware. I am VERY impressed with the level of support Shane gave me!
