I have been using Droid Transfer for ages to keep a record of text messages I need for my business on my PC. I have been saving my Android phone messages as PDF files, but you can also choose other backup formats. It's very easy to configure and connect your phone to Droid Transfer over WiFi, and you can also use the app to backup other files on your device. Highly recommended.

I had given up hope of transferring my iPod music to iTunes on my new computer until while web browsing I found TouchCopy. I did the trial version with 100 songs transfer, which went without a hitch. I decided to invest in a full version, and I'm pleased to say TouchCopy did not disappoint. It did take a while, but TouchCopy managed to copy all of my iPod music to my new computer - 15,000 songs in all, including artwork, playlists and videos! All in all, for me, the software was well worth the price.
