email archiving for Outlook MsgSave is an Outlook add-in that allows you to save selected messages in .msg format, exporting and optionally removing them from Outlook for archiving or backup. It can save an entire folder or selected messages, and also filter messages based on several criteria. You can customize the naming convention for the output files (subject, sender etc.) and also add custom text to the file name. MsgSave is a great tool to extract lots of emails from pst files and save them as individual files. It is fast and can handle thousands of emails easily. (I use the pro version on Outlook 2003) But there are problems when other outlook add-ins are installed as MsgSave often blocks these other add-ins. MsgSave does not show in the add-in list and cannot be de-activated like normal add-ins so I end up installing it when I need it and uninstalling it to get my normal Outlook back. The programmers are aware of the problem but claim their software complies with the Microsoft design rules (so it is not their problem). I was told they would keep me posted on new revisions. All in all a very powerful tool that does its job very well except for the not so seamless Outlook integration. show Review details
