find duplicate files AllDup enables you to find duplicate files across one or more folders or drives. You can choose to match files by size, name, date, attributes and byte-by-byte content comparison. You can also configure a variety of settings to exclude certain file types or folders from the search. AllDup will then scan the selected folders and produce a list of all duplicate files that were found. The list is organized into groups, which makes it easy to manage the results and process the files. You can manually select the files that you consider to be duplicates, or you can use the smart select options that allows you to automatically select files based on their date or folder location. The duplicate files can be processed in several different ways, you can choose to delete them, move or copy them to a different folder, or rename them in their current location. Pretty darn amazing dup finding utility. It has multiple methods of finding the duplicate files. I use if for pictures and it works great. The format or size of the pictures does not matter, it will find those with no problem. The only thing I found was that if a pictures was rotated it will not see it as a match but kind of makes sense and it is an edge case. When you start the program it literally guides you to your first search. The interface is clean and easy to navigate. show Review details

I've tried a few find duplicate programs over the years. I've never really found one I liked much. Typically, they are too simple or too difficultawkward to use, even for experienced users. Not to mention that it's always scary to let a new and unknown piece of software identify and delete important data. AllDup is not perfect - the interface is too crowded and a bit confusing at first. Way too many buttons. But I really needed a good duplicate finder and decided to spend a few minutes to figure everything out. Once I got the hang of it, it's a very powerful and useful tool. I've identified and cleaned up many gigabytes of duplicate files. Is it the best duplicate finder out there? I have no idea, but it works and does everything I need it to do. show Review details

It didn't find all my duplicates. I can sympathize with someone trying to write software like this as it must be pretty elaborate and somewhat trying to test, still, I wish that it caught all my duplicates. show Review details
