simple calendar AMP Calendar is small utility, that simply displays a 12 month calendar for the current (or selected) year. It runs in the system tray, and displays the current date in the tray icon. You can optionally choose to display week numbers, and also calculate the difference between two selected days. Does all it`s meant to

I've had this program for at least a year now and it's the first thing I start up after a format because I can no longer live without the date in the system tray which is just a number and doesn't take up much room. AMP calendar is standalone and uses a total of just 732kb in the folder it resides in on my computer. You can't write on it, it doesn't do alarms, it doesn't have skins and all those other things, it simply gives you the date and a calendar and this was the only program I found to put the date in the system tray using so few system resources.

Slightly better than a printed calendar, but it used 11Mb on my machine. Nicely formatted but basic display. I thought it would be handy, but lack of holidays and appointments made me replace it quickly. Worked OK on my XP Pro/SP3 machine, but there are lots of desktop calendars available.

Simple but effective

This little program doesn't have a host of features... but it's fast, it gets the job done, and it doesn't consume a lot of resources. If you often find yourself looking for a calendar to match up dates and days of the week, this is an excellent, free solution. It shows the current date in your system tray, and with a click you can have a full calendar. This sure beats bringing the System Time Control Panel -- or even worse, launching Outlook! It doesn't have any scheduling features, or memos, or reminders -- but if you're like me, and you don't need those tools -- this is quick little program will save you frustration!
