Security for your Files in the Cloud Boxcryptor allows you to encrypt your files at cloud providers such as Dropbox, Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive, SugarSync and any other service uses the WebDAV standard. To protect your files, Boxcryptor uses the AES-256 and RSA encryption algorithms. Boxcryptor creates a virtual drive on your computer that allows you to encrypt your files locally before uploading them to your cloud service of choice. It encrypts individual files and does not create containers. Any file dropped into an encrypted folder within the Boxcryptor drive will be encrypted automatically before it is synced to the cloud. Boxcryptor does not upload or sync any files on its own. It only encrypts the files that you store in the selected folder, so that when your cloud service agent synchronizes the files, they will be encrypted and secure. When you install Boxcryptor, you can choose between a Boxcryptor account (email registration) or a local account (no registration). The free version is limited to a single folder location.
