find the fastest DNS servers DNS Benchmark enables you to test the performance of a list of DNS servers so you can determine which offer the fastest response time and optimize your Internet settings accordingly. The program comes pre-configured with a list of public DNS servers and you can easily add your own entries to see how the compare. DNS Benchmark performs a detailed analysis and comparison of all servers in the list and generates a bar graph that makes it easy to interpret the results and choose the fastest servers. In addition to the graphical results, the program also generates tabular data that shows detailed technical results for expert users, as well as a conclusion that explains the overall results in Plain English for non-technical users. Nice little tool

One of those tools you don't realize you need until you see it. It showed me that the dns server I had been statically putting in all my PCs was quite a bit slower than others I could have been using. For free, there's nothing to complain about with this app.
