cloud storage and synchronization Dropbox enables you to share, backup and synchronize your files through a secure online service. The program creates a special folder (My Dropbox) and all files that are placed in the folder are automatically synchronized with your online Dropbox account. If you install Dropbox on multiple computers (e.g. Home, Office, Netbook etc.) your files can be automatically synchronized across all your computers. Once you installed the software, simply drop your files into your Dropbox folder and the rest is done automatically. You can even access your files via the password protected Dropbox website from anywhere in the world, download and view your files, and create special folders or photo galleries to share selected content with other people. Dropbox uses 256-bit AES encryption and SSL transfers to make sure your data is protected and safe. It also offers built-in version control, allowing you to undo changes or restore deleted files. The service is free to user with up to 2GB of online storage, affordable upgrade plans are available for those who need more storage. Copyright Snapfiles.com

Good tool to keep data in sync 5 stars by DarrinSingleton Jul 16, 2015 (Read all my 5 reviews)
I have to work on Linux and Windows-powered computers. I need to sync data between them, and Dropbox handles that quickly. For those reluctant to keep sensitive data on Dropbox: I use encrypted filesystem, encfs, which is actually synced via Dropbox. That gives me the feeling of better safety and some insurance that my data will still be more or less protected from third party eyes if human error happens and my storage can be accessed by someone else. Its mobile versions aren't that smart, however, especially Android one. Managing files with them can be a nuisance. However, even its free plan gives me enough disk space to keep my development and mail archives in sync. I should also admit the developers take security seriously and react quickly to whatever problem the program and its service had. show Review details
Fantastic application! 5 stars by IT_Guru Aug 20, 2011
Dropbox is an excellent idea and I use it on a daily basis. I recommend it to anyone who juggles files from one machine to another. There are no catches and it even allows you to view files from a web browser, which works well for a user who doesn't have a Dropbox account (as an example you can share photos with the family this way). Some people do say it can be a bit slow but that's mainly dependent on the speed of your Internet connection. You can fine tune the options to set limits for download and upload speeds, but the defaults are perfectly fine for most people and I wouldn't mess with them unless you really feel the need. I can't say anything bad about Dropbox at all and would be lost without it. show Review details
Easy as pie 5 stars by hrwasp May 05, 2011 (Read all my 48 reviews)
It is that easy. Really...just open up the folder that is created save your document, pictures, mp3, whatever...and BAM! Your information is now mobile. I like to take pictures & play new MP3 on my EVO, but I do not need to connect my USB to sync, just drop them in my DropBox and away I go. Anytime I want it, it is a click away! Great job and keep up the good work! show Review details
