personal file sharing server HFS - HTTP File Server is an easy to use drag and drop file server for personal file sharing. It runs as a standalone executable and does not require any installation. The program is very easy to use, just drag a file into it to share it with the world. You can customize the port it is running on, specify the IP address and monitor connections from the tray icon. HFS presents the shared files on a simple HTML page, that includes the file name and size. With some HTML knowledge, you can completely customize the HTML template to meet your preference. HFS can also integrate into Windows Explorer, allowing you to easily share files from the right-click menu. Copyright Snapfiles.com

Easy sharing 5 stars by busybusy Sep 05, 2018 (Read all my 247 reviews)
HFS makes it really easy to share file via your browser. It is easy to configure and if you need security it allows you to have user accounts. It has improved a lot since I first used it in 2009. More options and it is stable. Another cool thing is that it has been successfully tested with Wine under Linux. It has a small memory foot print so it takes very little resources to run. It is nice to see that this program has been maintained for so many years and a lot of people have found it very useful. Thanks to Massimo for an amazing program. show Review details

One file wonder ! 5 stars by aec007 Oct 11, 2010 (Read all my 2 reviews)
I've tried many FTP server programs before with little success having to go through my own router firewall. Setting services, ports, IP addresses, routing mac addresses... a "Nightmare" to make everything together. Often finished uninstalling everything since I could not make it work no matter what I did with little or no guidance. THIS is a "one file wonder" piece of software. Only one file to run when you want to share. A "virtual file system" to share documents so I do not need to setup locations is my drives, etc like all other FTP programs require.... AND well thought out help file wiki on the web that helped me punch through all the firewalls and routers. It just works...! Now I can send big files (100+ MBs) like videos of the kids to grandpa without having to upload to websites with file size limitations. show Review details
