personal file sharing server HFS - HTTP File Server is an easy to use drag and drop file server for personal file sharing. It runs as a standalone executable and does not require any installation. The program is very easy to use, just drag a file into it to share it with the world. You can customize the port it is running on, specify the IP address and monitor connections from the tray icon. HFS presents the shared files on a simple HTML page, that includes the file name and size. With some HTML knowledge, you can completely customize the HTML template to meet your preference. Literally works right out of the box. Super easy to set up for anyone who wants to share files of any kind with friends or family. If all you want to do is share photos, videos and stuff like that, this IS the server for you. show Review details

HFS makes it really easy to share file via your browser. It is easy to configure and if you need security it allows you to have user accounts. It has improved a lot since I first used it in 2009. More options and it is stable. Another cool thing is that it has been successfully tested with Wine under Linux. It has a small memory foot print so it takes very little resources to run. It is nice to see that this program has been maintained for so many years and a lot of people have found it very useful. Thanks to Massimo for an amazing program. show Review details
