MP3 batch tagging and renaming ID3 Renamer enables you to update ID3 tags for an entire folder of MP3 files at once. If your MP3s have tag common information missing, like for example the artist name or the genre, you can use the software to quickly add this information to all of them at once. In addition, the program lets you rename a folder of files based on a mask that is assembled from the existing tag data. Additional features include character replacement and FreeDB integration. ID3 Renamer does not provide a preview or Undo option but you can manually confirm every change before it is final. Copyright Snapfiles.com

Worked alright 4 stars by gimpguy Aug 07, 2012 (Read all my 1159 reviews)
Well, first off, the interface is alright but the left column should have something stating "choose directory" instead of guessing. There is no install which some may like. When using FDB or other external source, it keeps bringing up a connection error and even program not responding, probably a hiccup. Well, it did alright with music in my C: drive music folder but my other drive E:, not so well. It's fast but it didn't rename anything, fix it, or anything else for that matter. So, having to judge off the C: drive alone, it worked fine. It was very fast but it missed some music. I back up the music folder and then test it, replace it after, tried again, same thing. So yes, it did fix up the majority of music. That being said, this is one of the fastest I've run into and works decently. show Review details
Works, but... 3 stars by Tommiet Jun 06, 2011 (Read all my 9 reviews)
Errors out unless your mp3's are on the local drive. No network or NAS support. show Review details
So fast, I had trouble believing it 5 stars by ClifNotes Jun 13, 2008 (Read all my 3 reviews)
I'd copied a few hundred files from an iPod, all the files were named with 4 letter names. Useless to me. I fired up ID3 renamer and I was done in less than a minute. I think the renaming operation actually took about 3 seconds for 127 files. Out of those, only 10 or so had bad tags. I had to rename those by hand. I can't tell you how much time this little freebie has saved me and will continue to save me. If there's a better freeware tool for this out there, it can't be much better. show Review details
