portable image viewer JPEGview is a fast, no frills image viewer and editor for JPEG, BMP, PNG, GIF and TIFF formats. The minimalist interface offers a full screen viewing area without permanent toolbars or buttons to distract you. You can navigate between images via keyboard shortcuts and semi-transparent controls that appear on mouseover. The majority of features is available from the right-click menu. In addition to image viewing, JPEGview also provides a variety of image adjustment features, such as color balance, shadow/highlight levels and Unsharp Mask sharpening as well as automatic color and contrast correction. Jpegview proves that smaller is often better

I've used this excellent image viewer for several years now, and it has improved with each new version. Its capabilities make its small size hard to believe. It includes many basic editing features which are often enough for the average user, but if you follow the instructions that appear as comments right in the configuration file (JPEGView.ini), you can assign keyboard shortcuts to open image files in the external editor of your choice. Once you save your changes there, JPEGView automatically reloads the image to reflect the changes. Another nice touch is that this program supports animated GIFs; you can view the animations right in JPEGView. It will also open Windows icon (.ico) files. I don't know what else I can say, except that I really appreciate JPEGView's portability.

It's a great viewer and views more than just jpeg. It does have numerous options to customize and will do so as you browser through images. Aside from the stated facts in the review, I will touch on one, it's FAST. It skimmed through my pics easily and they are not low res images. Click of the arrow, on to the next pic, that fast so yes, it's definitely on with the speed.
