quickly locate files and folders Locate32 enables you to quickly find files and folders on your computer by simply typing a keyword that matches the name (or part of it). Instead of searching the file system directly, Locate32 creates a local database to store information about all your files and folders. This allows for almost instantaneous search results, even on large drives with thousands of files. You can also perform advanced searches and filter results by file size, path or extension, and even search for text contained inside of files. Locate32 offers plenty of options to customize the search behavior. You can choose which folders or drives to include in the database, exclude files or directories that match certain patterns, customize the default search options, and more. The create Janne Huttunen go this right. It is a amazing search tool. It has a number of configuration options to meet your needs, or just use it out of the box and most of all that it does Mapped Network Drives. This was a surprise bonus, Kudos! The interface is easy to get around and provides all the search options you generally need with little fuss. It has Explorer shell integration, (e.g. Right-Click Menu), which is a needed fucntion for this type of utility. I did find on Windows 7 Pro that you have to run the program as Administrator to have it save the setting. I does need to build a database which is amazing quick on all local drives. This was last updated in 2012 but works just great in Windows 7x64. Two-Thumbs Up! Get it, use it, Rate it! show Review details

This software is awesome. I've been using it for over a year now to index the 7 drives connected to my PC. It has helped me locate things so many times that I wouldn't have had a clue where they were. The speed of this software is amazing. After installing it I disabled all indexing services through Windows. show Review details
