identify issues with your MP3 files MP3 Diags is an advanced MP3 scanner and repair tool that can identify a wide range of issues with MP3 files in your collection. Unlike similar tools, MP3 Diags goes far beyond common issues like missing tags or artwork and actually analyzes many technical details like missing VBR headers, low quality audio, incorrect tag placements, character encoding issues, missing normalization data, duplicate tags and more than 50 other potential issues. The program can also fix a variety of issues, help you rename files based on their tag information and find missing artist information and artwork via MusicBrainz.org. Other features include and option to exclude issues from the results, backup of original files, ID3 tag editing, customizable color coding, support for MP3Gain (or other external normalizers), and more. MP3 Diags is a rather technical tool that requires you to have some advanced knowledge of MP3 files and their properties. It is strongly recommended to read the documentation and backup your files before applying any fixes. Copyright Snapfiles.com

In depth 5 stars by gimpguy Mar 23, 2013 (Read all my 1159 reviews)
It's definitely an in depth troubleshooter for your music files, letting you know of issues associated with your .mp3 files. It's not a click and fix software. It does have abbreviations in the columns, letting you know what they mean in each column and if you see the dot, well, you have an issue in that category. It also has a copy method in case you fix and screw something up, you can always replace with your backup files. Definitely too complex to explain it here but I do warn, if you are a basic user and expect magic, you will get none. Not until you do some reading first, understand what this does, go from there. Snapfiles already states this right in the description so don't be surprised if you didn't read it. Aside from that it's the best .mp3 analyzer I've used and gives you a great heads up on issues with your files and in fact did fix some of mine quite nicely. 5 star all the way! show Review details
Useful and needed 5 stars by TerryP Jan 20, 2012 (Read all my 87 reviews)
Unlike most single purpose mp3 file utilities, this takes a different approach by providing mp3 file analysis and repair for multiple issues from a single package. Because of this, the program appears somewhat complex, but the developer has done a good job in making the interface as user-friendly as possible. Even if not used to fix every problem, it's very useful to be able to load up a single program to make an initial analysis for a set of mp3 files. show Review details
It does a lot but who knows what? 2 stars by EmpressTrudy Jan 12, 2012 (Read all my 16 reviews)
It scanned a folder of 950 mp3 files and found 47 with anomalies. But there's no way to tell what that means, if they're significant or even what fixing them accomplishes. Playing back the fixed files sounds identical to me. show Review details
