If you have used commercial products such as Photoshop Elements or Paintshop Pro, you will be up and running in minutes with PixBuilder Studio. If you haven't used those expensive alternatives, PixBuilder Studio might well convince you to save your money!
This is a powerful image-editing program with a host of features. Layers, drawing tools, effects, compatible with Photoshop plug-ins. The Magnetic Lasso (for selecting areas of discrete definition within an image) performs very well. The program runs fast and does not appear to be a heavy drain on memory.
PixBuilder Studio installs effortlessly (an option to install a second product from the software makers is offered during installation - easily refused). The interface can get quite cluttered, so it helps to familiarise yourself with switching panels on and off and rearranging their positions. Amazingly the package comes in a tiny download - just over 3MB. Congratulations to WnSoft for packing a powerful punch in a tiny packet.

While I admit I laugh at most editors boasting all unique features which typically end up being minor plugins and non worth while tools, PixBuilder is a step above them.
What I would call it, not real advanced but not real simple, it's like a scaled down, stripped version of Gimp. This doesn't mean it isn't powerful in it's own right, I'll explain...
1. It has filters such as blur, motion blur, emboss, unsharp mask, etc...
2. Works with layers
3. Has gradient fills
4. Select tools, lasso, magic wand, magnetic, and more...
5. Ability to work with .8bf plugins which are (Photoshop) plugins, which also are cross used with Gimp and can be very useful, search the web, you'll find a slew of them which will knock this software up a notch for SURE
6. Basic tools, clone, heal, brushes, and adjustments for many of these (just basic assessment here)
7. Plenty of Undo options
8. Works with nearly all type of image extensions, jpeg, tiff, bmp... you get the idea
That aside, this tends to be faster than nearly any editor I've used, effects are instant, opening files, working with whatever you do, this is EXTREMELY quick, that is a big plus.
If you are a Gimp or Photoshop user, this will not even come close to replacing them, far from, HOWEVER if you want something that will do basic to advanced editing, this WILL work great and would be an awesome start for new editors and creators.
