lock your computer with a USB flash drive Predator enables you to lock and unlock your PC by simply removing or inserting a USB flash drive. You can use any USB stick, the program will generate a security code and place it on the device to identify it as the key. It will then check every X seconds if the drive is still inserted and if it is not, the program will lock your computer. If anyone attempts to access your PC while the USB stick is removed, he will be prompted for a password and, if the correct password is not entered within 20 seconds, an alarm will sound and access is denied. Predator logs the access attempt and notifies you the next time you unlock your PC. Unlocking your computer is as simple as inserting the USB key drive, if you happen to lose your USB stick, you can unlock your computer with a password that you specify during setup. As an additional layer of protection, Predator frequently changes the security codes recorded on your USB drive, so even if an intruder manages to copy your stick, this copy will not work because the codes on your own stick will have changed in the meantime. Not so good 2 stars by gimpguy Aug 10, 2011 (Read all my 1159 reviews)
Found the X64 version, installed it, seemed to go well. Set up a key on my USB, fine. From there it was all down hill. 1. Simple computer restart bypassed it, even with (Start with Windows)enabled. 2. Would not bring up the lock screen for me to type a password after the first time, took me 15 min to finally get it to show after a restart. All I had was a black screen, no keys would work, mouse did nothing. 3. The PC began running choppy even after uninstall (still have to figure that out) 4. The monitoring would not always work, when it did, I ran into the above issues. The monitoring would kick in too late in some cases, allowing me to shut it right off. If this works better for others, good luck. In my case, I found it (when working) easily bypassed and did little but give me a headache. show Review details

I can see a use for this program if you did not have multiple users on one PC. Would be a really great software if you are the only person on that particular PC. I tried it out on my 12 year old and he decided he did not want or could not find the USB drive, so he just inputs the password. Kind of defeats the purpose. I find the Windows password just fine for home use. But if you are a security nut and single, this would be the program to have. show Review details
