Lock, Encrypt and Backup your files Folder Lock is an easy to use, yet full-featured, software to lock, encrypt and backup your sensitive files and folders. The program uses 256-bit on-the-fly AES encryption to create password protected containers ("Lockers") that you can use to store your important files. While your data is locked, it is hidden an inaccessible to all other users. Once you unlock a container, you can access your protected file just like any others. Since the decryption process takes place in memory, all your data remains encrypted even while you are accessing your files. The program can be configured to automatically lock your data containers if you step away from your PC. Folder Lock also lets you convert your encrypted Lockers into portable containers that can be copied to a USB drive or CD/DVD media. The portable Lockers are self-decrypting and can be unlocked on any PC without the need to have Folder Lock installed. Other features include an option to lock and hide individual files, password protected wallets to store your logins and passwords, an integrated file shredder for secure deletion of you data, protection from hack attempts, and more. Folder Lock also offers a "Lock Files" feature, which allows you to quickly hide selected files, folders or drives from view. However, it should be noted that this feature will only hide and lock your files and folder while Folder Lock is running. If you access your file system from a boot environment (e.g. Parted Magic), your locked items will be unprotected and freely accessible. Copyright Snapfiles.com
