Expires after 15 days, overpriced, crashed on first use on third station download and obsolete UI. I prefer Pocket Radio Player (PRP). show Review details
Definitely nice 5 stars by gimpguy Aug 21, 2012 (Read all my 1159 reviews)
It's a great player and more stable than radiozilla, has far more channels and the sound is superb on most stations. I simply added my favorite station that I listen to when traveling through Wisconsin, but can't listen to where I live, Razor 94.7, so it's great. There are so many stations, you won't know where to start and this records which is good. My main complaint, and not sure if it's RarmaRadio's fault or the station listings but when you click on say, disco, you get todays pop stations or when I click on classic rock, there is current rock, or rock, there are stations with Lady Gaga "yikes". So sift through, don't go by what the genres say because they are fairly far off. The alternative, use the Favorites tab to add a station you like, then no more sifting. Other than that, great listening and now I'll be dumping my other radio listener for this. show Review details
Best of breed 5 stars by avwzkiuf8y3bc3021chb15 Aug 14, 2012
If you need an online radio app, this is the one to get. Once shareware, it was worth paying for. As freeware? It's a steal. Left understated in the review is the ability to keep multiple streams open at the same time. Why is that important? You know those 10-15 second station id's that play on some (a lot) of stations when you first start? With Rarma you only have to listen to them once. Plus, the ability to instantly switch streams is very helpful. My favorite feature is the 'wish list' that will record/switch to a particular song when it plays on an open stream. That and the superior interface and extensive database of stations (maintained online by them) make this the Best of Breed. That being said, I've had trouble with the latest release v. 2.68. For some reason, it doesn't like (any of) my system(s) and crashes consistently. Not sure why that is and they weren't responsive when I pointed it out. Guess it's just me. In any event the prior version v. 2.48 still works fine for me. If you have the same problem, you might try that. Also, be sure to back up your settings/favorites (you'll find it under the File menu. show Review details
