motion detection and alert program Rear View Mirror is a simple motion detection and alert program that works with your local webcam or a remote MJPEG stream. It was originally designed to use a webcam, mounted on your monitor, to alert you when someone is approaching behind your back - but of course you can also use it for any other monitoring purpose. Once you have selected the video source to monitor, the program will pop-up a video viewer (and optional sound alert) as soon as it detects movement within the range of the camera. Perfect, but some suggestion..

This is what I am looking for. I worked in a open area where people always walk behind my back. Sometimes, they are like ghosts, couldn't even hear their foot steps. With this, I can view, and hear if people are nearby. The only thing I am concerned (even though I don't use it) is that the documentation (help) is not detailed. I tried to record with compression format, and it does not work and what are those motion detection method mean?!
