screen capture tool Shotty is a small screen capture tool that allows you to take high quality screen captures with excellent support for Windows Aero Glass effects. You can capture windows without getting 'dirty' corners, and (in LQ Mode) automatically apply a solid background color to your Aero Glass windows so that your desktop does not show through. In HQ mode, Shotty can capture a selected window with full alpha transparency and save it as 24-bit PNG file, which allows you to merge the image with any other background while maintaining the Aero Glass effect.Shotty can capture the entire desktop, a selected region or a specific window. The program includes a small image editor that lets you crop or resize the capture and also offers several annotation options. You can highlight areas, add custom text, blur selected areas and insert colored or semi-transparent rectangles. Other features include support for delayed captures and image watermarks, integrated uploading to a temporary hosting service, an auto-save option and more.Shotty is a great choice for taking high quality screenshots, while it does include some annotation features, these are somewhat limited and not the strongest feature. Not too shotty 4 stars by gimpguy Jul 21, 2011 (Read all my 1159 reviews)
It's a nice (NICE)scu, but not GREAT. Well, it may be great but next to others like PicPick, it loses it's greatness. That's not to say Shotty isn't really good, because it is and hey, it's free and will do anything you need it to do for basic (and more) screen shots. It captures very clean shots, has a decent editor, easy to use. I still recommend it to anyone because it truly is a nice screen shot software. show Review details
Very nice and useful 4 stars by Nicholas Jul 17, 2011 (Read all my 72 reviews)
There are plenty of screen capture utilities around. I've used many of them. Most of them are freeware and very good. So is this one: Shotty. It does its job very well and it offers some extra nice features. I welcome the possibility to blurr parts of my screen dumps. However, I miss one important feature: a color picker. For that purpose I've to 'step down' to Picpick. Recommended nevertheless! show Review details
