application independent spell checker Spelr is a spell checking tool that works with any application, including emails, text files, browser input and any other text content that can be copied to the clipboard. The program can spell check an entire document, a selected text portion or any text that has been copied to the clipboard. Each spell checking action can be triggered via a customizable keyboard hotkey. No matter which option you choose though, Spelr always uses the clipboard as a middle man. Any spell checks and corrections are performed in the clipboard and then pasted back into your document, either manually or automatically. While this approach makes Spelr application independent, it does not allow for real-time spell checks and spelling errors are not marked with the common, red curly line (although the Spelr logo appears to indicate otherwise).
