sort MP3 file into folders based on ID3 tags Tags 2 Folders is a small and simple tools that enables you to quickly organize MP3 files into folders named after the artist and album information contained in their ID3 tags. You can scan an entire folder structure and then either copy or move the files into their new location. If any of the file are missing their tags, they will be moved into a special folder so you can deal with them later. Not half bad...

...but only half. It's fast, it does what it says to a point. The quirk here is if you have music in folders already, correct or not, this doesn't touch them. I have maybe 70 songs with titles and such but this put them all in one folder, even though some are by the same artist and tagged already as such so I'm not sure what this is doing. It only copied the songs that had blanks into actual separate folders, leaving 4 and a half gigs untouched and that would manually need to be gone through. Eh... I give it a 3.

I have been looking everywhere for a program like this. I know you can download programs like Real Player and they will scan you system and external drives for music files but they are not easily managed. It scanned, located and moved 16.4 GB to a folder in just a few minutes and now I can actually see what I have since I had a mess before I found Tags2Folder. Thanks to the developer of this one, it's not good it's great!!!

I made the mistake of adding Title so made folders for EVERY song. My mistake. Otherwise this is a great tool that I have been looking for for months.
