find duplicate images VisiPics can help you find duplicate or similar looking images that are stored on your computer. You can select from different filtering methods that determine how strictly the program will check for similarities, a strict mode will only return images that are almost identical, while looser filtering will also return images that may have significant differences (e.g. cropped or edited versions of the original). The found duplicates are automatically arranged into groups and displayed as small thumbnail images. You can preview each image in full size, review the file properties and then mark the files that you want to move or delete. VisiPics also offers an Auto-Select option that can quickly mark smaller or uncompressed copies as duplicates. Other features include support for priority folders and an option to ignore selected folders or files. Copyright Snapfiles.com

Set it up properly and you won't find better 5 stars by Softwary Aug 15, 2014
This is everyone's favourite duplicate image finder and it is spot on, fast and never crashes even when you throw thousands and thousands of images at it. You can also save the search and return to it if you wish to go through things manually. Use the slider to determine how similar you want the pictures to be (I choose exact, at the top). Then choose next rejection criteria which I choose lower resolution. Let it run, then it will auto select. I am super careful about old duplicates and chuck them all on an old hard drive that is just for duplicates. You never know. Stick the drive back in the drawer and forget about it and return to your PC with (if you're like me) Gbs of space saved. You can also choose to delete by least favourite folder for instance. Take 5 minutes and you will never use anything else to search for image duplicates. If only I could find something as reliable for other file formats. show Review details
Super amazing tool 5 stars by busybusy Jun 06, 2014 (Read all my 262 reviews)
I had to do a recovery on profile to save all the pictures but ended up with 223GB of pictures with duplicates. Instead of most tools showing you the path of a file this show the image(s). It was so easy to extract the files to a folder, delete files , and the image display has the Exif data you need to select the right file(s). Very impressed! The interface is well laid out and easy to see what you need to do to process the files. It is simple, functional, fast, and gets the job done! Two-Thumbs Up for Guillaume FOUET (aka Ozone)! Get it, use it, rate it! show Review details
What i like about this one 5 stars by gimpguy Sep 29, 2011 (Read all my 1159 reviews)
Others give you files to look at, what it found as duplicates and an option to preview the files, leaving you constantly taking another peak. Or some even bring up the duplicates with a supposed preview that when opened are actually a whole different image, which means, if you choose deletion, you just deleted a picture that wasn't a dup. That said, this seems to be very accurate, gives good thumb previews automatically which really helps in choosing what to delete or not. If the thumbs are too small, it gives you a larger preview when you click on a thumb, very nice. It also has levels of detection. Very easy to use, choose folder, put in right pane, scan. You can choose to ignore folders, etc... Along with the thumb preview is you can simply click on that thumb to select it for deletion and it will show a line going through diagonally with a recycle bin icon and says "Marked" , no mistaking accidental deletions. One last thing, it has X-amount of previews per page, you click on NEXT PAGE to go to ... yes... the next page, if you have numerous images to go through that is. I have about 12 gigs and is going to take a while to sort through but at least this helps. show Review details
