Even with the video card I have, getting the gamma settings just wasn't right. This little gem set my gamma just right. No matter what I did, the folders on this monitor were too bright around the edges, if I enhanced them, they would be too bright, too dim or too colorful. Again, this fixed that issue.
NOTE: You have to have a good eye for this else it may not even look like you are changing anything. Open up a documents folder or something you can adjust by, you WILL see the difference.
Definitely a 5.

.. this is a decent additional tool to tweak gamma beyond perhaps what many simpler vidcard applets do.
Trial #1 was on a pesky hookup of an old Win98 box with an onboard card to a new LCD TV with VGA input - as is, Windows boots to a too-bright display and I have to (so far) manually reset the gamma on the 'color'tab of the vid applet to 50% for a reasonable look (minor pita to do every boot or reboot). QuickGamma helped a bit in this situation. The startup loader works well. Documentation in the Help is very good (will have to look into that Registry setting for the LUT, or ...).
Vid-tweaking is a complex field with many interactive variables and this is only my 'first glance' at a well-thought-out app which could use some more eyes, setups and time to be appreciated. The startup loader in particular is a nice touch, as well as the charts. As always, YMMV (;
