I am not an audio engineer, but simply have a hobby of ripping music from my old vinyl(and acetate). I tried Wave Pad, though found the recording quality to be unacceptable. The function of click/pop removal removed far too much--where a chisel would have been indicated, it acted as a back hoe, making the music sound very clipped and tinny. The only feature that was kind of cool was one that let you cue up several features to be run sequentially. However, the resultant music quality was unacceptable. By the time I started looking for ways to tweak the performance, the trial time was over and I could not access those functions again without purchasing the program. show Review details

Easy to use and powerful 5 stars by wordplay Dec 18, 2006
I was using a different free program-and getting very frustrated with editing. I am new to the world of audio recording and editing and needed a program with a low learning threshold. WavePad fits the bill! A plus, it is easy to import files from my digital voice recorder, something the other program did very poorly. NOTE: WavePad is totally free to use, they just offer an advanced version for sale. If you are not a professional, this should be all you need. However, the price for the advanced version is low-a big plus in the world of expensive software. For $38, I would certainly consider upgrading if I ever need the advanced features! I feel more skilled with WavePad in one afternoon, than I do after a week with the other program! show Review details
Great audio tool 5 stars by shimpoo Dec 09, 2006 (Read all my 8 reviews)
Very easy to use and stable. I've tried some other software, but Wavepad is the best for me. Auto trim is useful and the performance is great, it works. There are many other freeware too you can find on their Website. show Review details
Six month use 4 stars by PhilipM May 26, 2006
WavePad is very user friendly and easy to use. There are 2 criticisms I have: It will not let you set a default saving format other than .wav. It will not let you save in .wma format. show Review details
