Built-in subtitle search-download-include!! 5 stars by henerey773 Sep 05, 2016 (Read all my 37 reviews)
Subtitles is right on the menu bar. Open any video that probably has original or user-made subs and this will find good choices and down them, then play with them without a restart. show Review details
Move over VLC, there's a new kid in town 5 stars by Klatuu Nov 25, 2012 (Read all my 29 reviews)
I was a big supporter of VLC since it had so many more features than Windows Media Player. However there have been several bugs in it recently that made me (and many others) look for something else. SMPlayer not only fit the bill, it surpassed VLC in every way. It can sync audio - a vital feature of VLC. It loads and plays faster. It can instantly play in full screen, which many media players including VLC have problems with in Win 7. I do recommend choosing to custom install and checking off the additional codecs - can never have enough of those. And I personally turned off several logs and playlists to save drive space - but you may want the custom ini files that can save playback settings per video - another powerful feature if needed! It works better than any other video player I've tried, I prefer the interface and find it's controls and menus very easy to use, it is faster, and so far it plays everything with ease. What more could you want? show Review details
Great player 5 stars by gimpguy Aug 29, 2012 (Read all my 1159 reviews)
For one, this has a great playback and is fast to load. There are some minor effects like flip, mirror,etc... albeit, I cannot get the color adjustments to work, they simply... won't. Aside from that, it also has a snap shot capture and constant snap shot, where you can yep, capture numerous frames of snapshots to create whatever you want, gif, etc... but no, this does NOT create animated gifs, I'm just saying, you can. It played .iso, dvd, cd, everything I threw at it and hey, it just works. It's free, great player. I do hope the developer addresses the color control, eg.brightness, contrast.. not working. Still a great player. show Review details
